SM3SH Competitions — Official Ruleset
Allowed Techniques
Most submission and grappling techniques are permitted, with the following exceptions:

Slams from the guard are not allowed.

While all takedowns are allowed, deliberately spiking an opponent on their head is prohibited.

Small joint manipulation involving three fingers or fewer is not allowed.

Strikes of any kind are prohibited, as they are not considered grappling.
Ways to Win

The primary method of victory is by submission.

If no submission occurs, the competitor with more points at the end of the match will be declared the winner.
Match Duration

Each match lasts 6 minutes.
Point System

Takedown: 2 points
(If the opponent does not remain grounded for at least 3 seconds, the referee may award only 1 point at their discretion.) -
Full back control, full mount, or any form of side control: 2 points
(If the position is not held for at least 3 seconds, the referee may award only 1 point.) -
Significant submission attempt: 1 point
(If the opponent escapes in under 3 seconds, the referee may award 1 point at their discretion.)
Outfit

Competitors must wear a rashguard and shorts, or short tights made of lycra material.

Wrestling shoes are optional.
Weigh-Ins

Weigh-ins are available one day before the event.
Format

SM3SH features both single-elimination tournaments and super fights.
